Sketch N Scrap Layout Sketch #177

Hi scrappy friends! Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest Sketch N Scrap sketch up on the blog!  Heather Hall designed this fantastic sketch for us this month:
And here's my take on it:
The "blank slate" look to Heather's sketch really appealed to me.  I love the clean lines & banners, and also decided to add a tag/embellishment cluster at the top for balance since my title is much smaller.

I really dug out some old papers and pictures for this one! One of my favorite EP lines is hands down their Pinstripes boys line.  I snagged some marked down chipboard at last years Expo & have only bits of scraps left. I used a scrap of grid paper from an old SS summer line, too, and dug into my stash of journal cards (Maya Road) and wood veneer (Studio Calico & Kaisercraft).  Feels good to use up some stash on this!

Hope you are as inspired to use this sketch as I was, come on over to Sketch N Scrap & join in on the challenges! Hope to see you there!

Sketches In Thyme Challenge #372

Hi everybody! It's the 14th of the month, and that means I'm up on the Sketches In Thyme blog.  Here's my creation for this week's challenge:
And here's the sketch, designed by Miyuki Kawakami:
I used Carta Bella's new Baseball line on this, with an OLD piece of Kaisercraft grid for the background. When I first saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to use baseballs for those large circles. I cut 3 with my Cricut, then used so many of the fun elements from Carta Bella's sticker sheet and some old Prima All Star brads to add some finishing touches:

Hope you come on over to the Sketches In Thyme blog and check out this and the other challenges we have running in May! Hope to see you there!

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #145

Hi everybody! There's a fantastic new card sketch up on the Sketch N Scrap blog, designed by Heather Hall:
This sketch was so much fun to work with! I love the scallop border and fun banners and decided to make a thank you card with it:

I pulled out some scraps from Pebbles' Along The Way line and cut the pretty scallop using an old Sizzix border die.  The stamp is from CTMH and the cute little butterfly is a Waffle Flower die.  Just a few Kaisercraft black pearls & it all came together so quickly! This is a versatile sketch that I know I'll use again & again!

Hope you find this sketch to be as inspirational as I did and that you join us over at Sketch N Scrap to play along!

National Scrapbook Day 2019 at Sketch N Scrap!

HAPPY National Scrapbook Day to all of my fellow crafters out there!!   I try to plan ahead and "block out" NSD every year and hide in my craft room....some years it works, others not so much LOL  Hope you find time to celebrate with some crafting today, and if so please come check out all of the inspiration at Sketch N Scrap!  I created a layout using a sketch designed by Lisa Hidy especially for NSD 2019:
And here's Lisa's sketch, don't you love it!?:
I used Simple Stories' new Spring Farmhouse line on this page, with a piece of wood grain from Ella & Viv.  Photos are of my Mom and sweet little grand-niece.  I don't often get a chance to make a "girly" layout, so I was so excited to scrap pics of this precious little sweetheart! There are so many fun elements on the Spring Farmhouse sticker sheet, perfect for layering. I also added a little machine stitching around the borders:
This sketch is only one of the challenges running all month long over at Sketch N Scrap, there are more layout and card sketches....come on over and play along!  Don't forget about our Facebook Birthday Bash, too!  Hope to see you there!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #501

I'm checking out all of the fun NSD challenges that are happening online tomorrow and stopped to create this card for Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I love that they post a new sketch every week!  Here's the current sketch:
And here's what I came up with:
So this is one of those situations where I just couldn't get a picture that I liked to really show how well these colors work together, it looks much better in person.  I recently took advantage of Pinkfresh Studios Grab Box sale. All of the papers and the chipboard sentiment are from my grab box and I cut the label with my Cricut.  I like the balance that the black dots gives to the design, what a great sketch!  Thanks for stopping by!

Cookin' Up Creations with Sketches In Thyme

The Sketches In Thyme Mavens are hanging out all month long with Cookin' Up Creations for a Sketchathon!  I've created a layout for Cookin' Up Creations to share using a sketch by SIT designer Jenessa Franco:
And here's Jenessa's fabulous sketch:
I used the new Kaleidoscope line by Vicki Boutin, along with some older stuff from my stash: EP graph paper, Maya Road camera & some wood veneer from Studio Calico & Kaisercraft.  The flair is from my favorite Etsy shop, A Flair for Buttons. To add some texture and interest I used some machine stitching & an Art Anthology stencil.  This was a fun technique and so simple, I just used a fingertip ink dauber with some Black Soot Distress Ink.
