Go Fish!

Hi everyone!  I played in my craft room again today! How nice to sip that first cup of coffee in the morning and check out different challenges online.  I saw that Scrap Our Stash has their February Sketch Challenge up, and it's an awesome sketch!  I also saw this week's Lasting Memories blog challenge, to use die cuts.....the wheels immediately started turning & I combined both challenges into one layout:
The Scrap Our Stash sketch challenge requires polka dot paper and washi....check and check!  It's so funny how the timing of things occur sometimes.  I was organizing my scraps recently, and set aside the last of my Simple Stories Happy Trails line, which has an orange polka dot!  I added a couple strips of brown washi under the veneer camera and in my cluster at the bottom, too.  Here's the sketch:
At Lasting Memories, this week's challenge is to use die cuts.  I decided to create my own title in Cricut Design Space.  I combined two different fonts & welded it all together into one piece:
The fish on the line is from the Happy Trails die cut pack, I thought he looked kinda cute hanging from my title!  I also used my Sizzix Big Kick for the banners, the tag & the wooden circle in my cluster.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #541

Hi everyone! I played along at Tuesday Morning Sketches again this week.  Check out this cute sketch:
And here's my take on it:
I took a very literal approach to this sketch because I just loved all of the elements...especially the doily & twine.  I can see from my picture that the sentiment looks a little lost amongst the polka dots, but it's actually much bolder in real life LOL

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #195

Hi everybody! I'm back with another fabulous sketch to share with you that went live today on the Sketch N Scrap blog.  Here's the sketch, designed by Heather Hall:

If you're like me, you have jars of flowers, buttons, package after package of embellishments (Simple Stories Bits & Pieces anyone?  I swear they multiply at night in the packages LOL).  This sketch allows you to use up that stash, I had so much fun with it:

One of the recent page kits I received from The Scraproom was Pinkfresh Studio's Office Hours.  The die cuts and sticker sheet that came with my kit had SO MANY fun little embellishments.  I decided to document my new work office.  After 23 years as a billing manager for an orthopedic surgery group, I was able to relocate my office space to our satellite office....5 minutes from my house!  No more 50-60 minute drives to my house! Woot Woot!!

To finish off the layout I added a few finishing touches, AC cork arrows and some Fancy Pants puffy dots from their Good Fellows line.

Come join us at Sketch N Scrap and show us what you can do with this sketch, hope to see you there!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #540

Hi everyone! I played along at Tuesday Morning Sketches again this week with a really fun card sketch:
Here's my take on it:
I recently purchased a great set of acrylic stamps from Close to My Heart that benefits a fund for Australia.  The heart has so much detail and was perfect to play with using my watercolor pencils and water brush.  The papers are from Bella Blvd's Illustrated Faith line.  I'm loving the 6x8 paper pads that manufacturers are putting out these days!  I tried to draw from the colors in the top and bottom paper strips.

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #163

There's a new sketch challenge up over at Sketch N Scrap, perfect for pulling out some fun embellishments to use!
This sketch designed by Heather Hall was perfect for using up some cute little donut die cuts I recently got in a Jillibean Soup warehouse box:
The papers and sentiment die cut also came from the Jillibean Soup box.  What a fun sketch, full of possibilities for all kinds of embellishments, but I thought those donuts were super cute :)  Come play along with us at Sketch N Scrap and show us what you can do with this sketch, too! Hope to see you there!
