February Cherry Lift Challenge

Have any of you checked out the challenges offered over in the message board at A Cherry on Top?  If not, click the link to the right and come join in the fun! There are some really talented hostesses there that come up with creative challenges every month.  I host the Cherry Lift challenge, which is a scraplift challenge.  I pick a layout from the ACOT gallery and lift it, then the challenge is for you to pick one and lift it, too.  It's lots of fun and you just might win a prize!

Here's my challenge sample.  I chose this one to lift because I just loved the design, and it worked perfectly for a 6x6 paper pad I've been wanting to use...Cool Kid from Crate Paper....and the background is Bazzill Eggshell.  I used my Cricut to cut the "Boy" for my title, and also to cut the snapshot frame at the top.  The frame is a free cut file from Scrapbooks and Cards.

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #114

I managed to get a card made today, I have some thank you notes to get out and this sketch at Sketch N Scrap was very inspiring!

I decided to pull out my big ArtBin of scraps and found several patterned papers to mix & match on my card.  The sentiment was cut from a Pebbles patterned paper sheet, I like how the colors rest on the gray woodgrain background, which is a scrap from Echo Park's Jack & Jill line.  Thanks for looking!

The ScrapRoom Blog Challenge

Hi Everyone! Today I'm sharing with you the layout I made using an incredible sketch from The ScrapRoom Blog.

When I saw this sketch, I immediately thought of the pictures I wanted to scrap of my son's 4th birthday.  I used Echo Park's recent Happy Birthday Boy line with an Eggshell Bazzill background.  I rarely use cardstock for my backgrounds, but I love this Eggshell because of the corrugated texture to it.  I used a Cricut image from their Design Space for the "Boy" of my title.  I wasn't thrilled with the picture I took of this, I promise you the layout isn't crooked, my picture is! ;)  Thanks for looking!

Stuck?! Sketches January 15 sketch

Helloooooo.....is anybody out there?  This is my very first blog post, we'll see how this goes ;)

I am in love with this sketch by Laura Whitaker, it's the January 15th sketch posted on Stuck?!

Fortunately for me, I had the day off yesterday and immediately began tackling this sketch!  With the recent purchase of a Cricut Explore Air 2 (gifted to me, by me at Christmas), I have been playing with different cut files.  I came across this Paper Issues free cut file recently called Starring You.  After converting it to an SVG with an app in Windows 10, I was able to cut it with my Cricut. When I saw this sketch, I immediately thought of this cut file, and the ball began rolling.  After hitting it with some ink, I decided to add texture using my sewing machine. I used some Boys Fort papers and cardstock die cuts from Pinkfresh Studios, background paper is old Simple Stories 24/7 notebook paper.
