Becky Fleck Sketch Challenge at A Cherry On Top

There's a fantastic sketch challenge at A Cherry On Top until February 28th.  Here's the sketch...

And here's what I did with it...

I decided to use a sheet of Shimelle's Go Now Go cloud paper for the top portion.  It provided a great background for those cute little puppy pilots from Echo Parks new Imagine That line!  I am loving the bold colors in this line, and know I'll have to get more of it now that I've seen it in person. The bottom grid is from an older Echo Park line, Jack and Jill.  The flair is from my favorite Etsy store, A Flair for Buttons.  I purchased a Silhouette .svg file to make the scribble circle with my Cricut Explore Air 2.  Thanks for looking!

February 15th Sketch at Stuck?! Sketches

This month, there are two fabulous sketches to choose from at Stuck?! Sketches mid-month challenge!  I decided to use the second one posted.....though I have plans for the first one, too.  Here is the sketch I worked with...

And here is what I came up with...

I was scurrying trying to get a picture of this as the natural light was quickly fading!  This layout has one of my favorite travel photos from our vacation to New York last summer, I took it with my phone on Ellis Island.  These coin-operated binoculars just scream "sightseeing" to me, I thought it made an interesting photo with the Manhattan skyline in the background.  I used Simple Stories new travel line, Travel Notes on this.  Lots of wonderful patterns and colors, and the little pack of die cuts is full of fun little pieces!  I chose to move the border to the bottom so it could "support" my stenciled skyline & used a 6x6 Crafter's Workshop stencil called Mini Urban Landscape.  I went back & forth on whether or not to include the circle element on my layout, with either stitching or pen work.  I finally opted to take the less is more approach....of course I'm still undecided if I should have added it!  LOL  Classic me, overthinking it ;)  Thanks for looking!

February 1 Challenge at Stuck?! Sketches

Another very inspirational sketch from Stuck?! Sketches!  I've had the pictures, stencil, and some paper sitting to the side for over a week.  All I needed was the time to work on it.  I'm glad I waited, though, because I hit an incredible sale at WhimSoDoodle, a LSS in St. Pete, FL, yesterday.  I got the background paper (EP's Summer Dreams) and the Amy Tangerine Oh So Lovely paper and rubber embellies on sale.  I tore into my new goodies last night, adding some Simple Stories scraps and the title cut with my Cricut.  I love the centered design of this sketch. Rather than using a circle element for the doily shown in the sketch, I used a stencil from Crafter's Workshop.  I love the plus signs....this stencil is going to get a lot of use from me in the future! I like how it helped tie everything together, with the plus signs in the tag and on the green heart embellishment.
